JEB DUNNUCK – DEGUSTATION JANVIER 2026

Racines Rouge 2024 – Gigondas

(90-92) From older vines around the estate in the northeastern section and fermented with 20% stems, the 2024 Gigondas Racines is based on 80% Grenache Noir, 15% Syrah/Cinsault, and 5% Clairette, aged 20 months in 60-hectoliter French oak foudres. Blacker fruits, tapenade, pepper, and garrigue all emerge from the glass, and it’s always a touch more dense, compact, and powerful compared to the Terrasses du Diable cuvée. This medium-bodied, balanced, rock-solid Gigondas will show well for 15 years or more if well stored.

Terrasse du Diable Rouge 2024 – Gigondas

(90-92)  Coming from higher elevation limestone soils, the 2024 Gigondas Terrasse Du Diable is based on 90% Grenache Noir, 5% Mourvèdre, and 5% Clairette, aged 20 months in 60-hectoliter French oak foudres. Bright, juicy red and black berry fruits, peppery herbs, and violets define the aromatics. It’s medium-bodied, with a pure, focused mouthfeel, nicely integrated tannins and acidity, and outstanding length.

Pallières Blanc 2024 – Gigondas

(92) The first vintage of this cuvée, the 2024 Gigondas Blanc comes from a single demi-muid and is based mostly on Clairette from old vines that previously went into the rosé. It offers a beautiful nose of minty herbs, white peach, white flowers, and chalky minerality. Beautifully textured and medium-bodied, it has a rich yet graceful mouthfeel with outstanding length. This will keep for at least a decade. Drink 2026-2036.

Au Petit Bonheur Rosé 2024 – Vin de France

(89) Light gold-hued with a kiss of amber, the 2024 Vin De France Au Petit Bonheur Rose was brought up entirely in wood, which always gives this rosé a unique style. Orange blossoms, spice, dried herbs, and salty mineral nuances all emerge from the glass, and it’s medium-bodied, with a nicely textured, layered mouthfeel and a great finish. It can stand on its own as well as shine on a dinner table. Drink 2026-2027.

Terrasse du Diable Rouge 2023 – Gigondas

(92) No Racines was made in 2023 due to shatter in the Grenache, so a small portion of the Racines fruit went into this cuvée. Based on 90% Grenache Noir, 5% Mourvèdre, and 5% Clairette and aged 20 months in 60-hectoliter French oak foudres, the 2023 Gigondas Terrasse Du Diable reveals exotic aromatics of black cherries, mulberries, conifer, olives, pepper, and exotic flowers. It’s medium to full-bodied, with a nicely concentrated mouthfeel, ripe yet present tannins, and outstanding length. Drink 2026-2040.
